The thing remote work actually costs you
Remote work saves rent, electricity, transport and hardware. What it takes away is the part nobody costed: knowing, without asking, whether a colleague is at their desk, deep in something, at lunch, or in a meeting. Chat replaces that with a green dot that means nothing, because the person who set it went to lunch an hour ago.
The virtual office puts that back. It is a floor plan of your company, drawn from the org chart you already have, with your people on it in the rooms their day actually places them in. It is not a game and it is not a metaverse: it is a live view of data the product already holds.

Three ways to look at the same floor
The plan view is a bright top-down map: the fastest way to read the whole company at a glance. The 3D view lets you orbit the building. And walk mode puts you inside it in first person — you walk the corridor, look into rooms, ride the lift between floors, and knock on a manager's door if it is closed.
Voice is tied to the room you are standing in, so a conversation happens where the conversation is. A meeting room behaves like a video call — cameras, microphones and a screen share that appears on the room's wall display — and the restroom is roofed over, with only the names of who is inside on its sign.
Your building, not ours
The first floor is generated for you in a second from your departments and reporting lines. After that it is yours: draw new rooms, drag them, resize them, change what kind of room they are, add floors, place furniture, assign desks to specific people, and give every room its own colour and floor finish. The moment you change anything by hand, the generator steps back and never overwrites your work.
Common questions
Is the virtual office free?
Yes, today. It is an app your company installs from the Apps page, and there is no charge for it at the moment.
Do employees have to use it to be counted present?
No. Attendance is recorded by clocking in, and the office is a view of that. Someone who never opens the office is still at their desk on the floor for everyone else.
Can everyone see everyone?
On the floor, yes — as in a real office. Voice does not carry: it is scoped to the room you are in, and a closed private office is private to the people inside it. The restroom shows nothing but the names of who is in there.
What does it need to run?
A browser. It runs in the same web app as the rest of Remotly, with nothing to download.
